July 28 marked a year to the day since the famous demonstration in Khimki during which 300-400 young anarchists and antifascists from Moscow and the Moscow Region marched from the train station to the Khimki town hall (to the applause of local residents), where they set off smoke grenades, pelted the building with stones, and spray-painted several slogans on its walls. The fourth ZAF will be held on 30th of September and 1st of October 2011. in the Cultural Center of Zrenjanin. Encouraged by the positive experience in organizing last year’s Balkan Anarchist Bookfair, we decided to organize an anarchist bookfair as a part of the festival this year also. We hope that this will be an opportunity to consolidate old and establish new libertarian connections in the Balkans and beyond. Anarchist bookfair will be held on the second day of the festival, on Saturday 1st of October. The festival program, other than the boofair, will primarily, as in previous years, consist of discussions, concerts, children’s program, an exhibition … We will try to conceptualize this years program in a manner that reflects, already mentioned desire for the improvement of regional conections, but also the desire to critically evaluate the problems of local character. Die vierte ZAF wird vom 30.September bis zum 1.Oktober 2011 im Kulturzentrum von Zrenjanin stattfinden. Die positiven Erfahrungen mit der Organisation einer anarchistischen Buchmesse im Balkan letztes Jahr, haben uns motiviert als Teil des Festivals dieses Jahr auch eine anarchistische Buchmesse zu veranstalten. Wir wuenschen uns, dass diese Gelegenheit bietet, im Balkan und darueber hinaus alte libertaere Kontakte zu festigen und neue entstehen zu lassen. Die anarchistische Buchmesse wird am zweiten Tag des Festivals stattfinden, also am Samstag, den 1.Oktober. Das Festivalprogramm wird, im Unterschied zur Buchmesse, vor allem wie die letzten Jahre aus Diskussionen, Konzerten, Kinderprogramm und Ausstellungen bestehen. Wir werden uns bemuehen, das diesjaehrige Programm so zu gestalten, dass der erwaehnte Wunsch nach einer regionalen Verbindung ebenso wie die kritische Reflexion lokaler Probleme und Themen Platz finden werden. Da dies nicht immer eine einfache Aufgabe darstellt, sind wir fuer dankbar fuer eure Vorschlaege. An activist wanted in Russia over an attack on Khimki City Hall by anti-fascist and anarchist groups has been granted refugee asylum in the Netherlands.
Denis Solopov, a member of the Antifa anti-fascist group, flew to the Netherlands on Thursday, he told the organization Anti-Fascist Action of Ukraine.
Russian authorities placed Solopov on an international wanted list following the Khimki attack last July. He was detained in March in Kiev near the office of the Ukrainian migration service when he came to request asylum, Novaya Gazeta reported last month.
Solopov spent five months in a Ukrainian pretrial detention prison, but was released after receiving asylum in a “third, safe country,” a regional spokesman for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, Maxim Butkevich, told Interfax. The asylum request was granted after the UN watchdog gave Solopov refugee status, Butkevich added.
Russian officials, who sought Solopov’s extradition, have not commented on the development. A mob attacked the City Hall building last July to protest an $8 billion highway through Khimki’s forest.
Only two people have gone on trial over the attack, including Solopov’s brother Maxim, who received a two-year suspended sentence in June, while the other defendant was acquitted.

24th of June, judge of the Khimki city court of Moscow region of Russia, Neonila Zepalova, sentenced “Khimki hostages”, anti-fascist activists Alexei Gaskarov and Maxim Solopov, who were accused of organisation of a radical demonstration against construction of the Moscow-St. Petersburg toll highway, which took place in Moscow Suburb of Khimki 28th of July.
Alexei Gaskarov, who came to action 28th of July 2010 as a correspondent of the Institute of Common Actions, was acquired and cleared of all charges. Another defendant, anti-fascist Maxim Solopov, was sentenced for “hooliganism” (statute 213, paragraph 2 of Russian criminal codex) for two years suspended sentence, with a probation period of two years.
Judge declared, that Solopov was shooting to air from a traumatic pistol, and threw city administration with objects. In her conclusion, judge referred to testimony of witnesses Krivoshanova and Khramova. Krivoshanova rejected the testimony she provided during the investiogation, and also filled a formal complaint at the prosecutor’s office due to psychological pressure that was applied against her during the interrogations. But besides this, judge considered her previous testimony eligible, as prosecutor’s office decided not to open a criminal case against investigators. Continued…

Am 24. Juni verkündete die Richterin am Stadtgericht in Chimki, Neonila Zepalowa das Urteil gegen die „Geiseln von Chimki“. Den Antifaschisten Aleksej Gaskarow, der am 28. Juli 2010 als Korrespondent des „Instituts für kollektive Aktion“ bei der Aktion gegen die Stadtverwaltung in Chimki anwesend war, sprach das Gericht mit der Begründung frei, dass sich der anfängliche Tatverdacht nicht bestätigt habe. Der zweite Angeklagte, der Antifaschist Maxim Solopow, wurde des Hooliganismus für schuldig befunden und zu zwei Jahren auf Bewährung mit einer weiteren Bewährungsfrist von zwei Jahren verurteilt. Die Richterin teilte mit, das Solopow mit einer Schreckschusspistole in die Luft geschossen und Gegenstände auf das Stadtverwaltungsgebäude geworfen habe. In ihrer Schlusserklärung stützte sich die Richterin auf Aussagen zwei Zeugen der Anklage, Kriwoschanowa und Chramow. Continued…

Am 18. Juni wurden fünf freiwillige Pride-Helfer, die am Sofia Pride March teilnahmen, von einer Gruppe unbekannter Täter angegriffen. Drei von ihnen erlitten leichtere Verletzungen. Die LGBT-Rechteaktivisten vermuten, dass die Angreifer ihnen folgten, als sie den Pride verließen.
„Dies war offensichtlich ein Hassverbrechen, aber die Polizei ist nicht fähig es als ein solches zu bezeichnen. Das ist das größte Problem“, sagte Kaloyan Stanev, einer der Aktivisten, Amnesty International. Continued…
