6th of December N.N. from Kainuu region (Northern Finland) filed her
declaration of refusal from military service, having served 11 months in
the military and reached rank of a corporal. In Finland, military
service is voluntary for women, but during military service her views of
the service changed, as in army she made a conclusion that army is
based on physical and psychological violence, degradation and limiting
free speech. Most likely she will receive a prison sentence equal to
1/2 of the length of her remaining service, that is two weeks.
